I am very much focused on Feedback at present. Giving and receiving feedback is an important skill in one’s leadership armoury. More often than not, particularly at a not for profit level with volunteers on committees, you will hear people criticising one another instead of the behaviour. So I am looking to add a Standing Item to my meetings template titled Reflection. This will involve three questions, but perhaps only two. That’s where you come in. I am interested in your feedback as to how these questions should be presented. Here are the questions.
Reflection
1. What are we doing well?
2. What are we doing poorly?
3. How can we do things better?
They are purposely in this order so the reflection starts and ends on a positive note with the negative sandwiched between. However, do you think it necessary to ask the second question or does the third cover it? Would not asking the question be avoiding the hard issues? Should any of the questions be reworded at all?
I would love to hear your feedback on this.
